Fun
Times in Atlantic City
The sun was pouring through
the open oceanfront balcony drapes of my suite at The Flagship Resort. Normally
I'd pull the covers over my head cursing myself for not closing the blinds before
heading to dreamland. But this morning, something compelled me to rise. I walked
to the large windows overlooking the famed Boardwalk and stood captivated by the
white-capped Atlantic waves in the inland waterway. I knew then there was something
rejuvenating about this place.
Atlantic City was more than I expected. From the moment the sun rose over the
water, I knew this would be a memorable trip. First stop - breakfast! I ventured
out taking in the sights and sounds of the Jersey shore. There were many choices,
but I chose the all-you-can-eat buffet at the Bombay Cafe in Taj Mahal. Exotic
atmosphere and the allure of the nearby casino floor (already busy at 7:30 a.m.)
piqued my interest.
I spent the day "on the Boards" perusing the shops and combing the wide
beaches for shells. Atlantic City is more than bright lights and non-stop excitement.
With loads of information from AtlanticCitysBest.com, I headed to White House
Sub on Arctic Ave for lunch, the upscale Pier Shops at Caesars, the aquarium,
and finally the lighthouse.
When darkness fell I went to Angelo's Fairmount Tavern for dinner. I was delighted
with the authentic Italian food and service. It's a must for anyone seeking a
little isolation. After dinner I walked with anticipation back to the casinos.
I decided to hit Bally's Wild West first. After two hours of playing slots I decided
to check out the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana.
At night's end I headed back to the Flagship and jotted a reminder to send the
folks at AtlanticCitysBest.com a thank you for their helpful advice. I can't wait
to return; Atlantic City now tops my list of getaways!
